Decorative Portrait Plates

What do you get when you take a traditionally formal piece of dinnerware and alter the center with a most unexpected image? Perhaps an 1970’s school portrait of a teenager in a leisure suit with the face of a chimpanzee? You get “A Portrait of Jerry”, or you could get “Bernice Bunny”, a 1950’s school girl’s in a plaid dress with the head of a rabbit. Our Portrait Plates series is a great twist on classic dinnerware that will certainly have your guests talking!

Revitalizing these beautiful vintage plates with lighthearted images makes for the perfect fun, contemporary gift for that special someone that has everything.

In this room, Asian motifs and artifacts blend seamlessly with more transitional upholstery and textiles.  The bold punch of red in the walls is Moroccan Red from #BenjaminMoore Paints and can be found at Watkins Paint in Orlando and Winter Park, Florida. The red dragon motif on the pillows succeeds in carrying the accent color throughout the room.  There is a plush accent chair available as well.

Colorful Art

Artwork adds color, dimension and personality to your walls.  A carefully selected piece will elevate the feel of a room and feel like a window into another place and time.  This original piece “Florida Vacation” by local artist #VictorBokas is a prime example.  So dynamic is this piece that a similar piece was translated into a 15ft by 88ft mosaic floor in the Orlando International Airport as a part of the Public Art Project in 2000.  We have several examples of Victor’s work for sale here at Collage Home.

These exquisite tea pots are the creation of Parisian artist Martine Goron.  Each design is hand-painted on Limoges porcelain and then accentuated with finely-crafted metal work in Morocco.  A thoughtful gift for the person who has everything, or a sublime treat for yourself!

Fortunata

These exquisite ceramic pieces by Fortunata capture the tradition and charm of the ancient Tuscan workshops where the ceramics are skillfully hand thrown using a unique mixture of select local clays. To make these ceramics, clay is thrown and shaped by hand on the potter’s wheel. Sea creatures are then handcrafted and creatively integrated into each piece, before being hand painted with a palette of Mediterranean colors.  They are truly a work of art in every way.
